ROLE

I worked as a product designer collaborating with the product team to analyze requirements and design features that helped shape the core product experience

At a glance

THE BRIEF

An internal order management and delivery tracking system for a patient assistance program that provides critical medication

WHAT WE DID

Designed a centralized platform to manage orders and track delivery statuses in real time. The system streamlined key workflows, surfaced relevant information for each stakeholder

IMPACT

Created operational visibility for the client's patient assistance program allowing them to scale their operations faster

Over 99% delivery accuracy reached after this project was shipped

BACKGROUND

An end-to-end project during my job @Zelthy in Bangalore, India

This project was done at Zelthy- a B2B startup that specializes in building enterprise healthcare applications. This project was initiated to merge and visualize the client's medicine delivery operations into one place. Some of the core flows were already in production so I worked on the supplemental flows and enhancements

BRIEF

Delivering critical medicine for long treatment plans

The goal was to help the organization manage and view their medicine delivering operations. As well as a system to help patients receiving medicine be able to verify their identity and safely access the medicines.

THE SCOPE

We designed the product ecosystem from supply chain dashboard to customer signup and onboarding

WE NEEDED TO DESIGN

Patient's signup onto the program

Patient's signup onto the program

Patient's signup onto the program

Patient login and digitally verifying the identity of the patient with specific program requirements. Uploading sensitive documents and caregiver details.

HCP (Healthcare Professional) sign-in and patients view

Onboarding a healthcare professional onto the app. Patient's view for the healthcare professional and inviting a patient onto the program.

Customer track and return order

Customer track and return order

The medicines being delivered need to be verified and we needed to ensure that the delivery executive and the customer could ensure that the right medicine was being delivered.

PATIENT'S APP

Key features I designed

  • Digital patient verification

  • Patient's order history and program progress tracking

Task 1- Digital patient verification

THE BRIEF

The brief: Making the document verification process transparent and accurately collecting information

THE CHALLENGE

This process occurred asynchronously and the patient needed clear, transparent communication about the progress

MY DESIGNS

I kept two main components on the document verification screen. One was a top section notifying the status of document verification. The second was the list of individual documents and their respective statuses.

Emerging use case: Later we added a communication section for specific notes to patient from the team.

Task 2- Patient's order history and program progress tracking

THE PROBLEM

Insufficient information about the order status. Patients were unsure about the next steps after registering for the program. Eligibility criteria for free medicine was not clear.

MY DESIGNS

I kept two main components on the document verification screen. One was a top section notifying the status of document verification. The second was the list of individual documents and their respective statuses.

Emerging use case: Later we added a communication section for specific notes to patient from the team.

MY DESIGNS

The categorization and organization of product boxes often confused patients, especially since the system sold SKUs as either single units or in packs of three—but counted a pack of three as one unit for eligibility.

After team discussions and several design iterations, we introduced a more visual, infographic-style solution that clearly communicated progress and eligibility status to patients.

DELIVERY TEAM'S TRACK AND TRACE FEATURE

Key features I designed

  • Delivery executive's orders list

  • Scanning and confirming vial

Task 3- Order number syncing

THE BRIEF

During order delivery ensuring the delivered vial matched the one displayed in the patient’s app was crucial

MY DESIGNS

I kept two main components on the document verification screen. One was a top section notifying the status of document verification. The second was the list of individual documents and their respective statuses.

Emerging use case: Later we added a communication section for specific notes to patient from the team.

MY DESIGNS

I designed a straightforward interface for delivery executives to scan delivered vials and ensure the scanned number matched the system. The design was kept minimal, with clear and simple error messages to guide the delivery executives.

PRODUCT DASHBOARD

Product dashboard for tracking SKUs, approving medicine vials for delivery and managing inventory

Task 4- Optimizing the product dashboard

THE BRIEF

How do we make it easy for teams to sift through the large inventory with multiple parameters

MY DESIGNS

I kept two main components on the document verification screen. One was a top section notifying the status of document verification. The second was the list of individual documents and their respective statuses.

Emerging use case: Later we added a communication section for specific notes to patient from the team.

MY DESIGNS

The executives needed operational visibility and the main use cases for this were to quickly sort through the data and create a monthly report and bulk approve orders.

After many iterations we redesigned tables to have quick filters that allow the user to quickly sort through data.

Zooming in and zooming out

Zooming in and zooming out

Sometimes you need to step back and look at your designs with fresh eyes. Focusing too much on the details can make you lose sight of the bigger picture, while staying too high-level can make you never deliver the required design.

Keep your team informed

Keep your team informed

A big lesson I’ve learned is how important it is to keep your team in the loop when managing multiple projects. Being open about priorities, progress, and any roadblocks helps everyone stay on the same page.
